I studied to be a teacher at Furzedown College of Education which had a fantastic art department. Now sadly closed. I specialised in textiles, screen printing, batik and creative embroidery. Once I started teaching I found I had no time for my art work so when I stopped working to raise my first child I had this wonderful idea - I would be able to find some time for my art ! It has only been since my children have grown if not left home that I have been able to find that time. As I still work as a teacher there isn't that much time, but I am able to do loads of art with my class.
